How do you go camping while on your period?
I am going camping, probably on my period, and I don't know what to do. I will be going camping with most of my cousins (which are boys) and there will be no toilets except, for our RV toilet. Could I flush it in the RV or bury my used products?
You shouldn't be flushing your products anyway, they don't break down and they expand in water so block pipes both in the toilet and in the pipes further down the system, which costs millions a year to fix. Some companies say they're products are flushable, but that's because they are self-regulated so no one can tell them not to and it makes their products seem more convenient. Always wrap them up and throw them in the bin, and if camping then you would do this too.
You can always use menstrual cups, these are better than tampons or pads anyway as they're healthier and more hygienic, you can wear them any time for 12 hours without leaking or health risk, they're more comfortable and easier to use too. While camping they're better because you don't have to worry about carrying spares or disposal. I know many women who camp, hike, travel around the world, and they all use menstrual cups, I was actually just reading through an article about this today, here; No Tampons, No Problem: Alternative Products for Female Travelers - http://matadorgoods.com/no-tampons-no-problem-alternative-products-for-female-travelers
