Colorado Camping
July 25th, 2010 at 0:54Remote/Secluded Camping in Colorado, Oklahoma, or Texas?
Me and a few buddies are thinking of going camping this year, but the thing is, we don't want to go to a campground where there is a bunch of people with RV's and cabins everywhere. We want secluded areas, where it's very rare that we'll see people. Imagine the show "Survivorman", and that's the type of place we're looking for.
National Forest. You can tour them using Google orbital photography, select likely access
road routes and hiking destinations. Camping is allowed anywhere you want at no charge
apart from posted trailheads. Then telephone or e-mail District Office nearest any area of
interest to obtain additional access information (i.e, Bridges missing? Escaped tiger?
Aerial chemical applications in progress? Etc. - etc.)
