Lantern for Backpack Camping?

What kind of light source would you recommend for backpacking,cycling and fishing? Kereosene or Oil Lamp or Battery Lantern? I need something cheap.10 Points!! Thank you.

Candle lanterns are cheap but they dont tend to be that bright and they get sooty after a while.

The Black Diamond Orbit won lantern of the year in Backpacker Magazine, it`s battery operated.

I tend to use a canister lantern. Lightweight and super bright. Plus it uses the same fuel that my stove uses. So I`m saving even more weight by using the fuel for multiple purposes.
